Please SAY NO to STD witch-hunts
Every so often some guy would pop up on the board and claim that he got sexual disease, or may suspect that he has sexual disease. Then all the bros will get excited and demand to know which MM he saw. Or perhaps he will voluntarily give out the MM's name(s). When this happens, sometimes its just some ignorant bro saying ignorant shit. Sometimes its more sinister when its actually done by a jealous competitor. Most of us will never know, but as the "nuclear weapon of smear attacks", the mere mention/suggestion of sexual disease is enough to destroy a MM. Guys will take a better-safe-than-sorry approach and avoid her; at the same time, they will idiotically & ignorantly repeat that rumour. Right now, I'm calling on all you guys to forever stop these types of witch hunts. Let me start by pointing out a few things: * First of all, at any point in time, a certain percentage of wolves and a certain percentage of MM's will be carrying sexual diseases. If you hunt on a regular basis, its likely you've already encountered a MM that has sexual disease. * Most of the time, the person with sexual disease is in dormant stage (the disease is not active, the person is only carrying the virus but it is suppressed by their immune system, there are no outwardly visible signs). If you have sex with this person, and you take adequate precautions (rinse with mouthwash, wear a condom, shower immediately after), then the risk of contracting the disease is very small. * There will always be a risk to hunting, you can only minimize it but never eliminate it, unless you quit. * As a wolf/hunter, it is impossible to identify all the MM's with sexual disease and avoid them. If the MM has sexual disease that is in the active stage, you will know because you can see it (or smell it). If dormant, then there is no need to get overly worried; and you've probably done a few already without knowing. * By the time a certain bro reports of getting sexual disease, he has probably done at least a few others (or many others) after the MM he actually got it from (unless he only sees 1 MM per year or less). Therefore, it is pointless to insist to know which MM(s) he saw. In conclusion, I think this pattern where everybody always goes "which MM did you see" when someone claims to have gotten sexual disease is just based on ignorance, and also greed. Risk & reward always goes together. Yet, wolves want to continue hunting (which will always come with risk), but they want to avoid the risk, and they ignorantly think they can avoid by finding out exactly who has STD's and who doesn't. That in turn leads to witch hunts that put innocent MM's out of business but doesn't help any bros at all. In fact, this type of witchhunt is actually harmful, because it leads to false sense of security because the bros will be less careful since they falsely believe they can avoid risk.
