Sages of the past have long prophecied an annual salmon run of fresh young dimsums that will appear just before school starts. In recent years the dimsum species of salmon have all but gone extinct. Multiple scientific theories abound, from over-hunting, to poaching by rich second generation hunters who do not practice the time-honored catch-and-release rule, to a changing natural habitat wherein they no longer need to return to the garageland breeding grounds to feed and spawn. Whatever the reason is. Young dimsum salmon is an endangered species that needs love and protection. Today I had the fortune to spot a rare sample in the traditional hunting-fishing grounds. Needless to say, I didn't waste this rare opportunity to catch her and have my half hour of fun before gently releasing her back into the wild. Don't want to go into specifics.
